It’s the most wonderful time of the year! I’m talking about
recruitment season, of course!
School is back in session at UNLV which means the Iota Eta
Zetas are hard at work. While we miss the long, lazy days of summer, we can’t
wait to see what this school year has in store for us.
The collegiate Zetas had an event-filled summer, which
included three of our sisters traveling to Louisville to attend the national
convention. At the convention, Iota Eta was awarded the Founder’s Club Award
for donating over $10,000 to our philanthropy. Sisters Katie Devlin, Sara Geary
and Shardonnay Summerhays represented Iota Eta in Louisville and learned a lot!
The weekend of August 17, we had our annual sisterhood
retreat. The three-day retreat consisted of an ice cream social with our alum,
a visit from Phired Up! Vice President Jessica Gendron, recruitment workshops,
and sisterhood bonding activities. Retreat helped prepare the Fall 2011 class for recruitment season and was a
great way to bond after a long summer apart from each other.
Now here we are, only FIVE days away from formal
recruitment! Where has all the time gone? Our sisters have come together to
help craft and prepare for recruitment and we could not be more excited about the
prospect of gaining some amazing new Zetas! Recruitment will take place
September 21 to September 23 and bid day will be on Monday the 24. We can’t
wait to show the potential new members why we love Zeta Tau Alpha and why they
will love it, too!
Check back after recruitment for a recap of the weekend and
an introduction to our new members!
